  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sweet potato (I used the Red Garnet variety)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (I used olive oil)
  • ½ teaspoon harissa spice blend (or smoked paprika)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ + ⅛ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • black pepper (freshly cracked, to taste)

Method

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and then cut each potato into 1/2 inch rounds. Then cut each round into 1/2 inch cubes using a sharp knife (see pictures above in the post). Try to cut the potatoes in the same size so that they all cook evenly in the air fryer.
  2. Now, transfer the sweet potato cubes to a bowl and add the olive oil and the seasonings- harissa spice blend, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Toss to combine until the sweet potatoes are well coated with the seasoning.
  3. Preheat the air fryer according to manufacturers instructions. Then arrange the sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer. You might have to do this in batches if you have a small air fryer.
  4. Air fry at 400 F degrees for 10 minutes shaking the sweet potatoes once in between. Since every air fryer is different, the timing may vary a little, keep an eye after the 8 minute mark.
  5. Remove in a plate and enjoy as a snack or add to your favorite wraps, tacos, salads and more!
