Ingredients

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ¾ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp aamchur
  • ¼ tsp ajwain / carom seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 cup spring onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • water (for kneading)
  • oil (for roasting)

Method

  1. firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup wheat flour, ¼ tsp turmeric, ¾ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp cumin powder and ½ tsp garam masala.
  2. also add ½ tsp aamchur, ¼ tsp ajwain, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 cup spring onion and ½ tsp salt.
  3. mix well making sure all the spices are well combined.
  4. further, add 2 tbsp oil and mix well.
  5. now add water as required and knead the dough.
  6. knead to a smooth and soft dough adding water as required.
  7. cover and rest for 20 minutes.
  8. now pinch a small ball sized dough.
  9. dust with wheat flour and flatten slightly.
  10. grease oil in centre and fold to a square.
  11. dust with wheat flour as required and roll square.
  12. roll gently making sure the layers are not pressed completely.
  13. now on a hot tawa place the rolled paratha and cook for a minute.
  14. furthermore, when the base is partly cooked, flip the masala paratha.
  15. also, spread ½ tsp olive oil / ghee and press slightly both the sides.
  16. flip again once or twice till both the sides are cooked properly.
  17. finally, serve spring onion paratha with raita and pickle.
