Ingredients

  • 3 cup wheat flour / atta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • warm water (for kneading)
  • oil (for roasting)

Method

  1. firstly, in a large bowl take 3 cup wheat flour and 1 tsp salt. mix well.
  2. now add water as required and knead the dough. using water helps to prepare super soft dough.
  3. punch the dough and sprinkle water.
  4. knead the dough until it turns super soft and non-sticky. approximately 7 minutes of kneading is required.
  5. now place the dough in an airtight box and grease with 1 tsp oil.
  6. cover and rest for 20 minutes.

phulka preparation:

  1. knead the dough again and pinch a ball sized dough and roll uniformly.
  2. dust with wheat flour and roll thinly.
  3. roll without putting much pressure.
  4. place the rolled disk on hot tawa. make sure the flame is on medium.
  5. cook until the base is half cooked. once the base is half cooked, flip over.
  6. cook fully on the other side.
  7. now place the half-cooked side on the flame.
  8. increase the flame until it puffs up.
  9. turn over and cook both the sides on the flame.
  10. finally, phulka is ready.

roti preparation:

  1. firstly, put the rolled dough over hot tawa.
  2. cook on medium flame until the base is fully cooked.
  3. once the base is fully cooked turn over. the roti will start to puff up.
  4. once the roti puffs up press gently to puff uniformly.
  5. finally, roti is ready.

chapati preparation:

  1. firstly, take a ball sized dough and dust with wheat flour.
  2. roll to a thick disk of 5 cm diameter.
  3. now spread ½ tsp of oil uniformly.
  4. fold to a triangle and dust with wheat flour.
  5. roll gently without putting much pressure.
  6. roll as thin as possible to have thin chapati.
  7. now place the rolled chapati over hot tawa.
  8. cook on medium flame until the base is cooked.
  9. flip over and cook both sides.
  10. spread a tsp of oil and press gently to puff up.
  11. cook until both sides of chapati is cooked well.
  12. finally, chapati is ready.
