Ingredients

  • ½ cup chenna or paneer (or 3.5 cups milk)
  • 2 ½ tbsp powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder (or ½ tsp rose water)
  • 1 tbsp blanched almond powder
  • 2 tbsps nuts (chopped or any other garnishing)

Method

How to make sandesh

  1. If you do not have chenna, then follow the step by step photos to make your own.
  2. Add drained chenna to a plate along with almond powder and knead it well until smooth.
  3. To a nonstick pan, add chenna, powdered sugar and rose water or cardamom powder.
  4. Mix well and taste it. If needed add more powdered sugar.
  5. Fry this on a low flame for 4 to 5 mins.
  6. Overcooking will make the chenna grainy.
  7. Cool down completely. Then knead lightly.
  8. Roll to balls and flatten slightly.
  9. Garnish with nuts or saffron.
  10. Refrigerate and consume sandesh within 2 days
