Ingredients
- 2 cup rava (fine)
- ½ cup oil
- ½ cup curd
- 1 cup sugar
- 1¼ cup milk
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup red tutti frutti
- ¼ cup yellow tutti frutti
Method
- firstly, in a mixi jar take 2 cup rava. grind to fine powder, keep aside.
- in a large bowl take ½ cup oil, ½ cup curd and 1 cup sugar.
- whisk and mix until the sugar dissolves completely.
- now add 1 cup milk and mix well.
- further add powdered rava, ¼ tsp salt and mix well.
- mix well making sure everything is well combined.
- cover and rest for 10 minutes or until the rava is soaked well.
- meanwhile, grease oil to a saucepan and line with baking paper.
- after the batter has rested for 10 minutes, mix well making sure the rava has absorbed well.
- add ¾ tsp baking powder, ¼ tsp baking soda, ½ tsp cardamom powder and ¼ cup milk. mix well.
- now add ¼ cup red tutti frutti, ¼ cup yellow tutti frutti and mix well.
- transfer the batter to the saucepan.
- top with few tutti frutti.
- now place the saucepan on the burner, keeping the flame on low.
- cover the pan and seal the hole if any using dough.
- simmer for 60 minutes, or until the cake is cooked well. alternatively, if using an oven-safe pan, then bake for 45 minutes at 180 degree celsius.
- insert a skewer and check if the cake is baking completely.
- finally, unmould and cut the tutti frutti rava cake to the size of your choice.
