Easy Ragi Idli Recipe | Instant Finger Millet Idli - Diabetic Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • pinch hing
  • 2 tbsp cashew (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp carrot (grated)
  • 2 chilli (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • few curry leaves
  • 1 cup rava (coarse)
  • 1 cup ragi flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 tbsp coriander (chopped)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp eno fruit salt

Method

  1. Firstly, in a pan heat 2 tbsp oil. add 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp chana dal, 1 tsp urad dal, 1 tsp cumin, pinch hing and 2 tbsp cashew.
  2. Fry on low flame until the cashew turn golden brown.
  3. Now add 2 tbsp carrot, 2 chilli, 1 tsp ginger paste and a few curry leaves.
  4. Saute slightly until it turns aromatic.
  5. Further, add 1 cup rava and roast for 2 minutes. Roast until the rava turns aromatic.
  6. Add 1 cup ragi flour and roast for 1 minute.
  7. Cool completely, and transfer to a large bowl.
  8. Add 1 tsp salt, 1 cup curd and 2 tbsp coriander.
  9. Mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  10. Furthermore, add 1 cup water and mix well adjusting the consistency.
  11. Cover and rest for 20 minutes, for rava and ragi flour to soak well.
  12. Now add 1 tsp eno fruit salt and 2 tbsp water, and mix gently till the batter turns frothy.
  13. Pour the idli batter into the greased idli moulds.
  14. Steam for 15 minutes, or until the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  15. Finally, enjoy Ragi Idli Recipe with chutney.
