Easy Pottukadalai Halwa Recipe | Fried Bengal Gram Halwa - No Sugar

Ingredients
- 1 cup pottukadalai / putani / roasted gram dal
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1½ cup jaggery
- 2 cup water
- pinch saffron food colour
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp cashew
Method
- Firstly, in a mixer jar take 1 cup pottukadalai and grind to a fine powder.
- In a pan heat 2 tbsp ghee and roast pottukadalai powder.
- Roast for 3 to 4 minutes or until the roasted gram dal powder turns aromatic. Keep aside.
- In a saucepan take 1½ cup jaggery and 2 cup water.
- Stir and melt all the jaggery. Boil the jaggery water for 1 minute.
- Pour the jaggery water into the mixture and mix well.
- Stir continuously until the mixture is well combined.
- Also, add pinch saffron food colour and ½ tsp cardamom powder.
- Continue to stir until the mixture thickens and turns into a silky consistency.
- Further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and 2 tbsp ghee.
- Mix well until the mixture separates the pan.
- Now add 2 tbsp cashew and mix well. The halwa thickens once cooled.
