Ingredients

  • 6 boiled potato
  • ½ onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 chilli (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
  • ¼ tsp turmerc
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp aamchur
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch hing
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs

For slurry:

  • ½ cup maida
  • ½ cup corn flour
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • water (for batter)

Other ingredients:

  • breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • oil (for frying)

Method

  1. Firstly, on a large plate, take 6 boiled potatoes and mash as smoothly as possible.
  2. Add ½ onion, 2 chilli, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and 2 tbsp coriander.
  3. Also add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp aamchur, ½ tsp chaat masala, ½ tsp pepper powder, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp salt and a pinch of hing.
  4. Mix well, ensuring all the spices are thoroughly combined.
  5. Add ¼ cup bread crumbs and prepare a non-sticky dough.
  6. Prepare a small ball-sized ball and keep it aside.
  7. To prepare a slurry, in a bowl, take ½ cup of maida, ½ cup of corn flour, ½ tsp of pepper powder, and ½ tsp of salt.
  8. Add water and prepare a smooth slurry.
  9. Dip the small potato ball into the slurry.
  10. And coat in the breadcrumbs, making sure it's uniformly coated.
  11. Now, deep-fry in hot oil, keeping the flame on medium.
  12. Stir occasionally, until the aloo balls turn golden brown.
  13. Drain off, and you can serve like a lollipop with a toothpick.
