Ingredients

  • 6 large green chilli / mirchi
  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin / jeera
  • pinch of hing / asafoetida
  • ¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
  • ½ cup besan / gram flour
  • ½ cup peanut powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut (fresh / desiccated)
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp aamchur / dry mango powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)

Method

  1. firstly, cut the green chilli to 1 inch size removing off the seeds.
  2. now heat 3 tsp oil in large kadai and add 1 tsp cumin, pinch of hing, ¼ tsp turmeric. saute on low flame.
  3. further add chopped chilli pieces and saute for 2 minutes or till blisters appear.
  4. add in ½ cup besan and roast continuously for 5 minutes.
  5. roast till the raw aroma of besan disappears and turns golden.
  6. furthermore add ½ cup peanut powder, 2 tbsp coconut, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp aamchur and ½ tsp salt.
  7. saute on low flame, till the spices turns aromatic.
  8. add in 3 tbsp water and mix well.
  9. cover and simmer for 8 minutes or till sabji gets cooked completely.
  10. finally, garnish with coriander leaves and serve mirch ki sabzi recipe with rice or chapathi.
