Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup milk [i used 1%]
  • ⅓ cup + 2 teaspoon granulated white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • green food color (few drops [optional])
  • pinch of salt

Method

  1. In a bowl whisk together heavy cream and milk.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and whisk till sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add peppermint extract, vanilla extract, salt, green food color (optional) and mix till combined. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Once the mixture is chilled, make the ice cream according to ice cream maker manufacturer instructions.
  5. Add semi-sweet chocolate chips to the ice cream mixture after the ice cream has been churning in the bowl for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Once the ice cream is done, transfer to a bowl and freeze for 4-6 hours before serving or till the ice cream is firm.
  7. Scoop into your favorite cone and enjoy!
