Ingredients
- ½ lauki / bottle gourd
- 1 onion (sliced)
- few curry leaves
- 2 tbsp coriander (chopped)
- 2 chilli (chopped)
- pinch hing
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- ¼ tsp ajwain
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp chaat masala
- 1 cup besan / gram flour
- ¼ cup rice flour
- ½ tsp salt
- oil (for frying)
Method
- Firstly, peel the skin off ½ a lauki and grate it finely.
- Squeeze the juice and add grated lauki into the bowl.
- Also, add 1 onion, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, pinch hing, 1 tsp ginger paste, ¼ tsp ajwain, ½ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric and ½ tsp chaat masala.
- Further add 1 cup besan, ¼ cup rice flour and ½ tsp salt.
- Squeeze and mix well, making sure everything is well combined.
- Keep squeezing and mix without adding any water.
- The water in the lauki is enough to form the dough. Add more besan if required.
- Now, drop the dough into hot oil, forming a random shape.
- Fry on medium flame, stirring occasionally.
- Fry until the pakoda turns golden brown and crisp.
- Finally, drain off the Lauki Pakora and enjoy with hot tea.
