Ingredients

for onion salad:

  • 2 onion (rings)
  • cold water (for rinsing)
  • ¾ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 chilli (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

for mix veg salad:

  • 2 onion (sliced)
  • ½ carrot (juliene)
  • ½ cucumber (chopped)
  • ½ capsicum (chopped)
  • ¾ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 chilli (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Method

how to make restaurant-style laccha pyaaz:

  1. firstly, slice the onions into thick slices and separate the rings.
  2. transfer the onion rings into large bowl.
  3. rest in cold water for 10 minutes. this helps to reduce the spiciness of onion.
  4. drain off the water, and transfer to a bowl.
  5. add ¾ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp chaat masala, ¼ tsp salt.
  6. mix well making sure the spices are coated well.
  7. further add 1 chilli, 2 tbsp coriander and 1 tbsp lemon juice.
  8. mix well combining everything well without breaking onion rings.
