Ingredients
for onion salad:
- 2 onion (rings)
- cold water (for rinsing)
- ¾ tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp chaat masala
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 chilli (chopped)
- 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
for mix veg salad:
- 2 onion (sliced)
- ½ carrot (juliene)
- ½ cucumber (chopped)
- ½ capsicum (chopped)
- ¾ tsp chilli powder
- ½ tsp chaat masala
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 chilli (chopped)
- 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Method
how to make restaurant-style laccha pyaaz:
- firstly, slice the onions into thick slices and separate the rings.
- transfer the onion rings into large bowl.
- rest in cold water for 10 minutes. this helps to reduce the spiciness of onion.
- drain off the water, and transfer to a bowl.
- add ¾ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp chaat masala, ¼ tsp salt.
- mix well making sure the spices are coated well.
- further add 1 chilli, 2 tbsp coriander and 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- mix well combining everything well without breaking onion rings.
