Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas ((or 1 15 oz can))
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Method

  1. Dry Chickpeas: Pat the chickpeas dry using a paper towel - this helps make them as crisp as possible.
  2. Season: In a medium bowl, drizzle some olive oil over chickpeas and season with garlic powder, onion powder, red chili powder, salt, and pepper. Toss them well until well coated.
  3. Preheat: Preheat the air fryer to 375 ° F (190°C). Add the seasoned chickpeas to the air fryer basket and spread them in a single layer (cook in batches if required). Spray some oil on top if required.
  4. Air Fry: Air fry at 375 ° F (190°C) for 12-14 minutes or till they are crispy. Shaking the basket couple of times. Mine was cooked perfectly done in 12 minutes.
  5. Serve: Take them out and adjust seasoning. Serve while the roasted chickpeas are still warm and crispy.

Oven Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned chickpeas evenly in a single layer. Bake at 425˚F for 20-30 minutes, tossing occasionally or until golden brown and crispy.
