How to Make Apple Tea

  1. Pour water to a pot and add tea powder, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper. Bring this to a boil on a medium heat.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer this for 5 to 7 minutes until you begin to smell the cinnamon.
  3. While the tea simmers, rinse and peel the apple. Chop to small bite sized pieces or grate it.
  4. Add the apple to the boiling tea and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and cover the pot. Do not disturb for 5 mins.
  6. After 5 mins, strain the apple tea and add sugar if using.
  7. If adding lemon juice or honey, let the apple tea cool down to warm temperature. Then stir honey and lemon juice as required.
  8. Serve apple cinnamon tea warm or hot. You can also eat up the warm mushy apple.
