Method
How to Make Apple Tea
- Pour water to a pot and add tea powder, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper. Bring this to a boil on a medium heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer this for 5 to 7 minutes until you begin to smell the cinnamon.
- While the tea simmers, rinse and peel the apple. Chop to small bite sized pieces or grate it.
- Add the apple to the boiling tea and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and cover the pot. Do not disturb for 5 mins.
- After 5 mins, strain the apple tea and add sugar if using.
- If adding lemon juice or honey, let the apple tea cool down to warm temperature. Then stir honey and lemon juice as required.
- Serve apple cinnamon tea warm or hot. You can also eat up the warm mushy apple.
