Ingredients
- 1 bunch kale (about 5 cups, 8-10 oz)
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt & pepper (to taste)
Method
- Firstly wash and clean the kale with water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut the leaves from the thick stem and then roughly tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces.
- In a medium bowl, drizzle some olive oil on top of the kale. Then add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until fully coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 ° F (190°C). Add the seasoned kale to the air fryer basket and spread them in a single layer (cook in batches if required).
- Air fryer them at 375 ° F (190°C) for 4 minutes or until they are crisp and done but not burnt. Shake the basket halfway through.
- Crispy Kale Chips are ready (they will crisp up more as they kool).
How to Oven Bake Kale Chips
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (148˚C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the seasoned kale evenly in a single layer, ensuring chips don't overlap. Bake at 300˚F for 20-25 minutes, Stirring halfway through till they are crispy and done. Make sure they don't burn. Let them cool to room temperature before serving.
