Ingredients

  • 1 pound brussels sprouts (trimmed and halved)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder ((or minced garlic))
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Method

  1. Rinse brussels sprouts with water and pat dry with a kitchen towel. Using a sharp knife, trim off the bottom of the hard stem of each Brussel sprouts and cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise, from tip to trimmed end.
  2. Place Brussel sprouts in a medium bowl. Add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss them well, until evenly coated with the seasoning. Using your hands works best for this.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 360 ° F (180°C). Add the seasoned Brussel sprouts to the air fryer basket and spread them in a single layer (cook in batches if required).
  4. Air fryer them at 360 ° F (180°C) for 10-12 minutes or until slightly browned and crisp. Shake the basket halfway through. Mine was cooked perfectly in 11 minutes.
  5. Drizzle some freshly squeezed lemon juice on the roasted Brussel sprouts for citrus zesty flavor and serve immediately. Tastes best when it's hot.

How to Roast Brussel Sprouts in the Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spread the seasoned Brussel sprouts evenly in a single layer. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until slightly brown and crisp. You may have to turn them once halfway through. Cooking time may vary based on your oven and the size of the sprouts.
