Easy Ulli Vada Recipe | Kerala Style Onion Vada

Ingredients
- 5 onion (sliced)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp fennel
- 1 inch ginger (chopped)
- 2 chilli (chopped)
- 2 tbsp coriander (chopped)
- few curry leaves (chopped)
- ½ cup maida
- 2 tbsp besan / gram flour
- pinch hing
- oil (for frying)
Method
- Firstly, slice 5 onion as thin as possible.
- Transfer the onions to the large bowl.
- Add 1 tsp salt and squeeze the onions.
- Now add 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp fennel, 1 inch ginger, 2 chilli, 2 tbsp coriander and few curry leaves.
- Also, add ¼ cup maida and 2 tbsp besan and pinch hing.
- Squeeze and mix well making sure everything is well combined.
- Add more maida as required, making sure the mixture holds the shape.
- Grease the hands with oil and shape them into vada.
- Deep fry in hot oil, keeping the flame on medium.
- Stir occasionally, and fry on low to medium flame until the vada turns golden brown.
- Drain off once the vada turns crispy golden brown.
- Finally, enjoy Ulli Vada Recipe with tomato sauce.
