Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 inch ginger (grated)
  • 3 chilli (slit)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • ¼ cup peas
  • 3 tomato (chopped)
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp sat
  • 2 tbsp coriander (chopped)
  • 2½ cup water
  • 1 cup sona masuri rice

Method

  1. Firstly, take 2 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker. Add 1 tsp cumin, 1 bay leaf, 1 inch cinnamon, and 5 cloves. Saute until the spices turn aromatic.
  2. Add 2 cloves garlic, 1 inch ginger, 3 chilli and saute well.
  3. Also, saute 1 onion till it softens.
  4. Add ¼ cup peas and saute 2 minutes.
  5. Now add 3 tomato and cook till tomato turns soft and mushy.
  6. Further add ½ tsp turmeric,1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp coriander, and saute till the spices turn aromatic.
  7. Pour in 2½ cup water. Mix and to a boil.
  8. Add in 1 cup sona masuri rice and mix gently.
  9. Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles or until the rice is cooked well.
  10. Once the pressure settles down, fluff the rice gently.
  11. Finally, enjoy the Tomato Bath Recipe with raita.
