Ingredients

  • 1 cup soya chunks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • hot water
  • ¼ cup corn flour
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp salt
  • oil (for frying)

for sauce:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp spring onion (chopped)
  • ½ onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ capsicum (cubed)
  • 3 chilli (slit)
  • 2 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp spring onion (chopped)

Method

  1. Firstly, in a bowl, take 1 cup of soya chunks, 1 tsp salt and hot water.
  2. Soak for 5 minutes or until the soya softens.
  3. Squeeze off the water and transfer to the bowl.
  4. Add ¼ cup corn flour, ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala and ½ tsp salt.
  5. Mix well, ensuring the soya is evenly coated.
  6. Deep fry in hot oil, keeping the flame on medium.
  7. Fry until the soya turns golden and crispy. Keep aside.
  8. In a pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add 2 tbsp ginger garlic, 2 tbsp spring onion and saute well.
  9. Also add ½ onion, ½ capsicum, 3 chilli and saute well.
  10. Now add 2 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 2 tbsp vinegar, 2 tsp soy sauce and ½ tsp salt.
  11. Mix well, ensuring the sauces are thoroughly cooked.
  12. Further add fried soya, 2 tbsp spring onion and mix well.
  13. Finally, enjoy Soya Chilli Recipe with tomato sauce.
