Ingredients
- 2 cup ragi flour
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 carrot (grated)
- 2 chilli (finely chopped)
- 1 inch ginger (grated)
- 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp dill leaves (chopped)
- few curry leaves (chopped)
- 2 tbsp sesame
- ½ tsp cumin
- pinch hing
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp coconut (grated)
- hot water
- ghee / oil (for roasting)
Method
- Firstly, in a large plate, take 2 cup ragi flour, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 2 chilli, 1 inch ginger, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 tbsp dill leaves, few curry leaves,2 tbsp sesame, ½ tsp cumin, pinch hing, ½ tsp salt and 2 tbsp coconut.
- Squeeze and mix well, ensuring everything is thoroughly combined.
- Now pour hot water and mix well.
- Squeeze and mix, making sure everything is well combined.
- Now take a wet cloth. You can alternatively use butter paper or a banana leaf. If the banana leaf is not tender, heat it slightly and then grease it with oil.
- Take a ball-sized dough and tap gently to a thin thickness.
- Make four holes; this will help roast as we can add oil in the centre.
- Now flip over to hot tawa and press gently, peel the cloth off.
- Now add oil and roast both sides until they turn slightly golden.
- Flip over once the base is cooked.
