Ingredients

  • 1 crescent roll [I used Pillsbury crescent roll]
  • 5 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans (toasted)

Topping

  • caramel sauce
  • chocolate sauce [optional]
  • toasted chopped pecans

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking tray with non-stick spray and set aside.
  2. Toast the chopped pecans on a stove top till fragrant. Set aside.
  3. Using the paddle attachment of your stand mixer or using your hand mixer, beat cream cheese till smooth.
  4. Add sugar and vanilla extract and mix till well combined. Set aside.
  5. Roll out the crescent dough. Using your fingers pinch all the seams. The dough should become totally smooth and there shouldn't be any seams.
  6. With a rolling pin, roll the dough into a 13 x 10 inch rectangle.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture all over the rolled dough. Top with toasted pecans.
  8. Starting from the long end, roll the dough tightly.
  9. Cut into 9 equal pieces. Place the rolls into the baking tray and bake at 350 F degrees for around 25 minutes or till they turn light brown in color.
  10. Remove from oven and let them cool a bit.
  11. Pour caramel and chocolate sauce (if using) on top.
  12. Garnish with toasted pecans and serve immediately.
