Oats Omelette
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- 1/2 Onion (Finely Chopped)
- 1/2 Green Bell Pepper (Finely Chopped)
- 1/2 Carrot (Grated)
- 1 small Tomato (Finely Chopped)
- 3 Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)
- 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander Leaves
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp Olive Oil
Steps
- Put the oats into an electric chopper.
- Grind to a coarse powder, or use a blender for a fine powder, then transfer the oats powder to a large mixing bowl.
- Mix in the milk to reach a dosa-batter consistency, then set aside for 10 minutes.
- Break the eggs into a separate bowl and whisk thoroughly with the salt and black pepper powder. Set this mixture aside.
- When the soaking time is over, stir the oats-milk batter. Mix in the grated carrot and chopped onion, tomato and green bell pepper.
- Follow with the chopped green chillies and coriander leaves, then mix well with salt as needed.
- Mix the egg mixture into the batter thoroughly at the end.
- The oats-omelette batter is ready to use.
- Heat a non-stick pan and add a tablespoon olive oil, brushing it across the whole pan. Pour in the entire batter and spread it evenly over the pan, or make more than one small omelette if preferred. Cover and cook over low heat for 4 minutes.
- Turn the pan over to release the omelette onto a large plate or lid. Brush a teaspoon olive oil over the whole pan and gently slide the omelette back in. Cover and cook for another 4 minutes, then transfer the finished oats omelette to a serving plate.
- Serve hot or warm with Hot and Sweet Red Chilli Sauce.
