Ingredients

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • salt (to taste, optional)

Method

  1. Rince, the rice 2-3 times until the water runs clear (removes extra starch), drain the remaining water.

Main Pot Method:

  1. Add the rinsed rice, salt and water to the Instant Pot steel insert. Stir well.
  2. Close the Instant Pot with pressure valve to Sealing. Cook on High Pressure for 4 minutes. When the instant pot beeps, let the pressure release naturally.
  3. Open the lid, fluff the rice with a fork or ladle, and serve with your favorite side dish.

Pot in Pot Method:

  1. Add the rinsed rice and water in a stainless steel bowl.
  2. Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot insert and place the rice bowl over the trivet in the Instant Pot.
  3. Close the Instant Pot with pressure valve to Sealing. Cook on High Pressure for 4 minutes. When the instant pot beeps, let the pressure release naturally.
  4. Open the lid, fluff the rice with a fork or ladle, and serve with your favorite curry.
