Ingredients

  • 2 servings pasta
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili oil (with chili crisps)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 5-8 cloves minced garlic
  • 1.5 lb peeled raw shrimp
  • 2 green onions, diced
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

Steps

  1. Soak the shrimp in a bowl of cold water to defrost, or thaw in the fridge overnight. Allow extra time for this stage.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil for the pasta. Linguine or another pasta of your choice can be used. Add 2 servings of pasta once the water is boiling.
  3. Prepare diced green onions and minced garlic cloves, then set them aside.
  4. Put the oyster sauce, chili oil, ground black pepper and honey into a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  5. Heat a pan on the stove, put in some cooking oil, then add the minced garlic and cook until golden.
  6. Add the raw shrimp and cook both sides evenly, keeping the pan from getting too hot because shrimp cooks quickly.
  7. As the shrimp nears being fully cooked, add green onions, then pour in the mixed sauce and stir to combine.
  8. Add the drained, cooked pasta with a few spoons of pasta water. Set the heat to a low simmer and add the heavy whipping cream.
  9. Let the sauce cook until it thickens and coats the pasta well.
  10. If available, garnish with cilantro. A drizzle of chili oil can also be used when serving.
