  • 1 cup (225 grams) sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Steps

  1. Put 700 grams khoya in a large kadai, grating or crumbling it so that it cooks uniformly.
  2. Start mixing after adding 1 cup (225 grams) sugar.
  3. Keep stirring continuously over a low flame until the khova and sugar melt.
  4. Mash the khova until no lumps remain.

  6. Split the mixture into 2 equal parts and put 1 half into a tray lined with baking paper.
  7. Press it into an evenly level layer. The tray used in the described preparation measured 6 inch x 3 inch.

  9. Cook further so that everything becomes fully combined.
  10. Put this mixture on top of the burfi layer to create a double-decker layer.
  11. Make this layer even and level by pressing it.
  12. Leave to rest for 30 minutes, or until the burfi is set.
  13. Cut the chocolate burfi into pieces and enjoy.
