Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • As per taste Salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1.5 tbsp kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp oil
  • As Needed Water to make dough
  • As Required Oil to roast the paratha

Steps

  1. Put atta, kasuri methi, crushed ajwain, salt, red chilli powder and garam masala in a dough maker or parath and mix well. Mix in oil, then knead with water added gradually to make a semi-soft dough. Brush the prepared dough with oil.
  2. Cover and rest for 10 minutes until the dough is nice and soft. Knead again and divide into small portions. Take one portion, keeping the others covered, and roll it into a thin roti.
  3. Make a single cut from the centre to the edge. Brush the roti with oil, sprinkle dry atta over it and start folding from one side.
  4. Form a layered triangle, dust with atta and roll into a triangular paratha.
  5. Meanwhile, heat the tawa. Put the prepared paratha on it and roast with oil on both sides until crispy and golden brown.
  6. The parathas are ready to serve with dahi or any accompaniment you choose.
