Shish Taouk/Tawook
Ingredients
- 5-6 Chicken breasts cubes or chunks
- 15 cloves Garlic
- 2 big sized Lemons
- 6-7 tbsp plain Yoghurt
- 6-7 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp White Pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp ground Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Thyme
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Salt
Steps
- Cut the Chicken breasts into pieces of 2 inches each. The cubes shouldn't be too small. Otherwise they would dry quickly on the grill.
- Place Chicken in a bowl along with the rest of the marinade ingredients. Use your hands to rub the spices well until everything gets assimilated.
- Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or so. Or better still overnight for that juicy texture.
- Skewer the chicken right before grilling. Grill it on a barbeque on a medium heat so that it doesn't dry. Overheating would spoil the texture.
- Serve it alongside any simple dip or barbeque chutney and salad of thinly sliced onions with sumac. Enjoy!
- Note: This can be used in wraps and rolls with sauces and pickled veggies, lettuce and fries. Much similar to that of a shawarma.
