Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1 cup almond powder
  • 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon sliced pistachios
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 100 gram golden blond chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds
  • Few strands of saffron
  • Few rose petal crushed
  • 1 tablespoon sliced pistachios

Steps

  1. Use a food processor to reduce the sesame seeds to a grainy powder. Put ghee and jaggery in a pan and melt the jaggery over very low heat. Stir in peanut butter until incorporated. Once melted, add the cloves, ginger and cardamom powder.
  2. Mix thoroughly, then mix in the almond and sesame well. Add 1 tablespoon water at this point and keep cooking for a couple of minutes, stirring as it cooks. Transfer to a lined tin when the texture becomes dough-like.
  3. Leave it to cool completely. Melt chocolate, spread it over the top and garnish with sesame seeds, rose petals, saffron and pistachios. Enjoy the squares at Makarshankrant with loved ones.
