Sattu paratha
Ingredients
- 3 cups Whole Wheat flour
- 1 cup Lukewarm Water
- 1 cup Roasted Gram Flour (Sattu Ka Atta)
- 2 Onions, finely chopped
- 2 Green Chillies, minced
- 6 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 inch Ginger, finely crushed
- 3 tablespoon Coriander (Dhania) Leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Mustard oil
- 3 tbsp Ghee, or oil for frying the parathas
Steps
- Gather all the ingredients for hot Sattu Ka Paratha (stuffed chana dal flour paratha). In a mixing bowl, knead whole wheat flour and water into a soft dough; kneading the soft dough well helps make softer parathas. Cover it with a wet muslin cloth and leave it aside while you prepare the stuffing.
- Make the stuffing by combining all of its ingredients. A mixture that feels very dry needs a little warm water sprinkled in, followed by thorough mixing.
- Divide the dough into 10 balls. Roll each one a little, spread it with a little ghee or oil, and put 2 tablespoon of filling in the middle. Enclose the filling from every side, then roll the paratha to 1/2 inch thick.
- After heating a tawa or griddle, cook the paratha on each side to a golden brown colour. Give it a few drops of ghee or oil while it is on the tawa, and follow this process for the rest of the parathas.
- Serve the Sattu parathas hot with curd and aloo sabji for breakfast.
