Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, or to taste

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease an 11×7-inch baking dish.
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl and set aside.
  3. Heat the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, swirling constantly as it melts, for 3 to 5 minutes, until golden brown, bubbling and fragrant. Take off the heat and let cool for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Use an electric mixer to beat the brown butter and brown sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs individually, beating well after each, then beat in the vanilla extract. Fold in the flour mixture only until incorporated, followed by the walnuts and semisweet chocolate chips. Spread the batter in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the top is dry and the edges begin pulling away from the pan sides. Let cool completely, then cut into 18 blondies and dust with powdered sugar.
