Ingredients
- 6 bread slices
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 large apple (chopped into small cubes)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
- 1/2 vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter
Method
- In a bowl whisk together NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk, egg and vanilla extract. Set aside. Also mix sugar with cinnamon powder in a plate and set aside.
- Take the bread slices and trim the edges. Take a rolling pin and thin out the bread slice so that it's easier to fold it.
- Apply peanut butter all over the bread. Place chopped apples on one end of the slice.
- Start rolling from the side where you have the apples. The ends will stick easily because of the peanut butter.
- Repeat the same thing with the remaining slices. Meanwhile heat a tablespoon of butter in a pan on medium heat.
- Take one of the french toast roll and dip it into the prepared custard. Shake off the excess.
- Similarly, dip each roll into the custard and place all of them on the heated pan.
- Cook till both sides turn golden brown.
- Remove the french toast roll ups from pan and roll them into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on top (if desired) and serve the apple peanut butter french toast roll ups immediately.
