Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup tapioca starch
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • cooking spray
  • 4 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps

  1. Heat the air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Mix tapioca starch, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Dredge the chicken pieces in this mixture.
  3. Set a cooling rack on a baking sheet and put the chicken on the rack so excess dredge can fall away. Lightly coat the chicken with cooking spray, then put it in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook in the preheated air fryer for 10 minutes and shake the basket halfway through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix tomato sauce, gochujang sauce, honey, and soy sauce. Drizzle this over the chicken pieces.
