Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups Wheat Flour or Sharbati Gehun Aata
  • 1 cup lukewarm Milk
  • 2-3 tsp Dry Yeast
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cinnamon powder
  • 4 tbsp melted Butter
  • 1/2 cup Organic Honey (For glaze)

Steps

  1. Put the whole wheat flour and oil in a large bowl and set it aside.
  2. Warm the milk in a saucepan until lukewarm. Add the yeast, stir briskly and leave in a warm place. Once the yeast has bubbled up, add it to the flour and knead into a soft dough.
  3. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for an hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Combine the powdered sugar and cinnamon powder. Roll the dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Brush melted butter along the full length of the rolled dough, leaving an inch clear at all sides. Sprinkle on the cinnamon-sugar mixture and tap it into the dough.
  6. Roll from one end, gently pinching down as you go. Cut the finished roll into slices about an inch thick.
  7. Arrange the slices on a well-greased pan and return to a warm place to rise for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. For a variation, substitute honey for the glaze; it works well. Enjoy the rolls.
