Ingredients

  • 4-5 cups Fresh orange juice
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Cornflour
  • Desiccated coconut powder for garnishing
  • Oil to grease the tray

Steps

  1. Put freshly squeezed orange juice in a pan and mix in the cornflour well, leaving no lumps. Turn on the stove to a medium flame and cook with continuous stirring until a little thick. Add sugar and let it caramelize well; switch off the flame once thick.
  2. Transfer the candy immediately to an oil-greased tray and garnish with desiccated coconut powder.
  3. Cool in the fridge for 4-6 hours. It is then ready to serve: cut into desired squares or diamond shapes and enjoy.
  4. The candy can also be stored airtight for about 2 weeks. While cooking, make sure it reaches a transparent, jelly-like consistency. For a larger quantity, adjust the sugar and cornflour accordingly, aiming for the consistency of jelly candy from the market.
  5. Cornflour is used just to thicken and give a jelly consistency, so adjust it accordingly.
